When I started my bridal season in March, I never imagined that it wouldn’t fully wrap up until November. 2021 was crazy for most wedding vendors, but my year was incredibly crazy because we MOVED! After 8 years living in and loving Spokane, WA, I am finally back in Montana. The Pacific Northwest will always have a huge piece of my heart. It’s where I went to college (S’GO BUCS!), where I met my amazing husband, and where I started my business. As I looked back on the busiest season I have had yet, I wanted to highlight some of my amazing brides and the memories I made.
Long Distance
In March, I had the insane privilege of flying down to Temecula, California to do one of my friend’s makeup. I have gotten to know Shelby is an incredible wedding planner in Spokane after working multiple weddings together. We built a friendship different from most because I knew she cared more than just being coworkers in the industry, but she really cared about me.

First Montana Booking
When Levi and I first decided we were going to move back to Montana, I was terrified to move my business away from Spokane. I didn’t know the new market and was nervous I wouldn’t have the relationships with coworkers in the industry that I had in Spokane. Whitney was the first bride who took a leap of faith with me and booked me for her wedding! She was such a fun bride and had amazing friends and family surrounding her on the big day. I am so excited to see what she does in the industry as she finishes up esthetics school in Missoula!

Elopement Rise
This year I had 11 elopements, and I loved them! You will find most makeup artists in the wedding industry have a minimum that you have to spend on their services if you want to book with them. I have made an intentional decision not to do any minimum because I love working on elopements! I want to be there for your day, whether you are the only beauty getting their makeup done or if you have 8 other babes who want to sit in my chair!
Hannah was one of my brides this year who I would have been devastated to miss! She and her hubby flew up to Whitefish from Texas to get married in the most beautiful place on earth (in my opinion…and I am usually right;) ). It was a quick 45-minute appointment where I elevated her natural beauty to make sure she still felt comfortable in her skin, but still looked great on camera against the natural Montana beauty.

Creativity > Tradition
There are so many different trends and tips for making your wedding feel unique and genuine to your personality. Being in the industry for 5 years has allowed me to see a bunch of different weddings, BUT this was the first wedding I was a part of where the bride wore black! When Bri told me she would be wearing a black gown, I was PUMPED! I knew the pictures would be amazing, and I also knew I needed to match the drama of her makeup to the drama of her dress! The end result was STUNNING!

40 Weddings Later
When I tell people I did 40 weddings between March and October, the response I always get is…”HOW?!” And to be honest, I don’t know. Would I do it again? Yes, because I got to meet and be a part of some incredible celebrations, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the most challenging year I have been in business. Juggling moving, being a wife, and being a boss is tough, but I wouldn’t have 2021 wrap up any other way. Montana brides…reach out to me. I can’t wait to make memories with you.
